How About A Dental Crown In One Appointment for Christmas

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped covering placed over a tooth that has had a large filling or has been broken or damaged in some way. Dental crowns protect the remaining part of your tooth and restore its shape, size, and strength. The crown covers the tooth above the gum line and is cemented in place after it has been shaped for a comfortable fit. At our practice, we use CEREC technology to design, create, and place your dental crown in a single appointment.

A crown can be made from a variety of materials, including porcelain and ceramic. These materials are more cosmetically attractive than traditional metal crowns, but metal crowns may be recommended if they are better for your oral health needs. Your dentist can explain which options are right for you based on your wants and needs.

How Does CEREC Technology Work?

CEREC technology allows our dental team to take digital impressions of your teeth and mill your customized restoration in our office on the same day. As a result, you can receive your final restoration in one appointment without having to come back for a second appointment to complete the treatment.

What Are the Advantages of a CEREC Crown?

There are several advantages to choosing CEREC crowns versus traditional alternatives like gold or porcelain-fused-to-metal restorations. One of the biggest benefits of CEREC crowns is that you can see results right away. CEREC same-day crowns are precision-milled right here in our office, so we can place your new restoration in a single appointment and have you on your way. While the tooth is numb, we will prepare it by removing a small amount of enamel so the crown can fit properly. Once that’s complete, we will take a digital impression of your tooth. This impression will then be sent to our in-office milling machine, which will create your permanent restoration. We will then permanently bond the crown to your tooth using a special resin material. Thanks to CEREC technology, your treatment will be precise, efficient, comfortable, and convenient for your schedule. You’ll enjoy a natural-looking smile without sacrificing any quality.
