Veneers and Laminates in Las Vegas, NV

Veneers and laminates are designed to improve the natural teeth appearance, making them a discreet cosmetic enhancement. These porcelain restorations adhere to the outer surface of your tooth to conceal imperfections and correct dental concerns. Both veneers and laminates are high-quality cosmetic dentistry solutions that can improve the look of your smile without invasive procedures.

At Red Rock Dental, we use these special restorations to create that beautiful smile you always wanted. With just a slim piece of porcelain, we can hide your dental imperfections while making a balanced smile that demonstrates both beauty and function.

What Are Veneers and Laminates?

Dental veneers are paper-thin, porcelain shells placed on the surface of the teeth to boost their appearance, giving patients a flawless smile. The procedure used to secure veneers is minimally invasive and involves removing a small amount of enamel to fit them.

Dental laminates are similar to veneers except that they are much thinner and require little or no enamel removal for them to be placed.

What Problems Do Veneers and Laminates Correct?

Veneers or laminates may be recommended as a single cosmetic treatment or combined into a more comprehensive smile makeover. The following are concerns that  veneers and laminates address:

  • Minor to severe staining or discoloration
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Minor gaps or spacing
  • Misshapen, worn, or uneven teeth
  • Minor overcrowding or crooked teeth

Which Is Best for Me, Veneers or Laminates?

While porcelain veneers and laminates are essentially similar, some differences would make one more suitable for your smile needs. As the porcelain veneers require some removal of the tooth structure, they are a more permanent solution that cannot be reversed. If you prefer a reversible solution that maintains the integrity of your natural teeth, laminates may be more apt for you. They are thinner veneers, about as thin as contact lenses that do not require much preparation.

How Are Veneers and Laminates Attached?

The main advantage of the veneer and laminate procedure is that it requires little to no anesthesia. The process itself is relatively non-invasive and can be done quickly. In the first appointment, Dr. Alan McCaffrey will take impressions of the front teeth. These impressions are taken and sent to a dental lab for fabrication of the restorations.

When your restorations are ready, they will be secured to your tooth’s outer surface during the next appointment, using solid adhesives and hardened with unique light. With sufficient care and maintenance, you can expect the veneers and laminates to last for up to a decade.
