Same-Day Dentistry

Same-day dental services provide the best means to get dental restorations in a single visit to the dentist’s practice. The conventional method of fabricating dental restorations usually takes at least two weeks to be completed. However, same-day services provide the same in a very short time, thus reducing the chair time significantly.

What is CEREC?

CEREC, which stands for Chairside Economical Restoration using Esthetic Ceramics, is the foremost technological advancement when it comes to same-day dental restorations. It is the most advanced means of fabricating dental restorations using CAD/CAM technology, which makes the restorations very precise in terms of contour and size. It allows them to provide a perfect fit, which keeps them from getting displaced or causing discomfort to the patient.

What Are the Advantages of Choosing CEREC?

  • CEREC restorations are extremely accurate in terms of aesthetics and fit. The dentist would rarely have to make further modifications to their structure once they retrieve them from the computerized milling machine.
  • The mold of the teeth to serve as a reference is created using digital scanning, as opposed to biting into a gooey substance in conventional means. It provides more accurate data, which in turn makes the restorations more precisely shaped.
  • The restorations can be customized with respect to the color, texture, and translucency to match that of the natural teeth.
  • Most importantly, the entire procedure of scanning the teeth, inputting the data to the CEREC machine, fabricating the dental restorations, and bonding them to the teeth can be completed in a single visit to the dentist’s practice.

How Is the Procedure Carried Out?

During the initial screening, our team of dental experts will diagnose your oral condition thoroughly. We may also take X-rays and dental scans to better understand the severity of the condition. We will scan the teeth using a hand-held digital scanning tool, and the data obtained is input to the CAD/CAM machine. The device will fabricate the restoration within a few minutes while you comfortably relax in our dental practice.

When the restoration is done, we will retrieve it and make fine changes to its contour. It will then be bonded to the prepared tooth surface using dental adhesives, and a bite test will ensure your natural bite isn’t affected by it. We will also meticulously polish it to enhance its aesthetics.
